Antibiotic-resistant infection with Mycobacterium abscessus bacteria in people with cystic fibrosis (CF) can evolve rapidly to become more virulent, a genetic analysis suggests.  The findings support early testing and treatment of lung infections before symptoms emerge to prevent further complications.
