In observance of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Los Angeles oceanfront resort Terranea will again “turn pink” to benefit breast cancer organizations.

Throughout October, Terranea will — for the fourth year — reprise its “Terranea Turns Pink” initiative, which donates a portion of proceeds from golf rounds, special cocktails, spa treatments, desserts, room stays, and more to Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

“We are delighted to turn pink and raise money for this important cause,” Terri A. Haack, Terranea Resort president, said in a press release. “Last year through resort-wide efforts, Terranea raised over $28,000 for breast cancer support and research during ‘Terranea Turns Pink,’ and we hope to exceed this goal with this year’s campaign.”

The resort, which will even light its pool pink, will donate $5 for every October stay. Guests have the option of matching the donation when booking reservations. Chefs in pink jackets will serve limited-offer pink food and beverage items, including beet hummus, oysters served with a pink peppercorn mignonette, a sushi roll with beet rice, and a pink colada. Each specialty item sold sends $1 to breast cancer support and research.

Likewise, $1 from every spa visit will be donated. To promote self care, the resort’s oceanfront spa will have educational breast exam cards available, plus an area featuring a “Pink Boutique.” A portion of retail sales will be donated.

On Oct. 13, the resort will offer its monthly outdoors Full Moon Yoga session. Participants are encouraged to don pink apparel and to contribute $20 to Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach, which provides free support and education to patients and caregivers.

Terranea also will donate $1 for each round played on The Links golf course. On Oct. 19, the resort will host a full day on the greens, including contests, a silent auction, and yoga. Evening will bring a concert at Birdies for Breast Cancer, presented by City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center and Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center. For this event, which will also benefit Cancer Support Community, pink-wearing guests get half-off beverages.

On the shopping front, the resort will donate 10% of purchases of specialty bracelets. And, for each activity reserved in October, Terranea will pitch in $5 for breast cancer research and support.
