Instagram Account Uses Animated Characters to Highlight Chronic Illnesses

This post was originally published on this site

An Instagram account is using well-loved characters from children’s animated movies to create memes that highlight some of the issues people living with chronic illnesses face in their everyday lives.

MORE: Seven common symptoms of pulmonary fibrosis.

As reported in The Mighty, the account was set up by 26-year-old Kellie Patricia in 2015. Patricia knows what it’s like to live with numerous chronic illnesses and wanted to use her experiences with diseases such as endometriosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease to help fellow sufferers realize they’re not alone and to hopefully bring a smile to their face.

Here are some examples of the memes featured on Patricia’s Chronic Illness Memes page.
